About Us.
Fairbanks Barbell Club’s goal is to promote a culture of strength and resiliency through training and community to the Fairbanks North Star Borough. Strength training is for EVERYONE and it is Fairbanks Barbell Club’s mission to prove that.
As of 2024 Fairbanks Barbell Club has had multiple athletes compete on a national level in Olympic Weightlifting, helped athletes secure college sport opportunities, and helped countless people get rid of their aches, pains, and feel more overall resilient while still building muscle and improving bone density.
Owner Aislinn Martolano was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. She began her fitness journey when she was introduced to CrossFit in 2017. She fell in love with not only the feeling of being strong, but with all the benefits that occurred in her mental health and the way she viewed herself and the world around her. From there she went on to earn her Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching certificate, her CrossFit L1 and L2 certificate, and her USAW Coach certificate. She has worked as a fitness coach for all types of people and backgrounds from kids who are learning movement mechanics for the first time to athletes looking to train in their off season to older folks who are looking to rehab their knees.
Prior to taking ownership of Fairbanks Barbell Club Aislinn worked as a personal trainer and in a physical therapy clinic helping people recover from surgery and injuries. Injury prevention and recovery are of the utmost important to her. She believes that strength training when done correctly should improve your body and it’s resiliency, not damage it further.
Fairbanks Barbell Club is a team based gym that prides itself on it’s community. We believe that through community you can get vastly greater results than doing it alone. If you have been looking for a gym that can inspire you to make fitness a lifestyle, we would love to have you.
